Inviting Dining Nook

The client requested a window seat with built-in storage to fit under an angled bay window for her dining nook. She wanted the seat to feel welcoming and appear like it was floating. The height of the seat had to accommodate a 4-inch-high cushion.

The seat was painted white to blend into the wall and show off the marble table. A raised platform base created the floating look. A rim around the edge of the seating on top held the cushions neatly in place. Access to the storage was designed from the top to allow quick and easy use.

The wood used in this project was Maple plywood and Poplar for the trim.
